Chaitra Navratri is a nine-day Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. During this festival, devotees worship Goddess Maa Durga and her nine forms. According to the Hindu calendar, the Navratri festival commemorates the change of seasons. There are four Navratris in a year. Among them, two are Gupt Navratri, along with Small and Big Navratri. Chaitra Navratri is regarded as the Big Navratri and is termed Badi Navratri. This Navratri holds both religious and social significance.
The first day of Chaitra Navratri marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. It is said that on this day, Lord Brahma created the universe.
